Base & Add on Pay
Certification & Pay Policy
PSIA/AASI instructors must maintain current membership dues and continuing education credits to retain their certified pay rate and priority status. Lapsed memberships will result in a reclassification to non-certified status, including the corresponding non-certified pay rate.
Non-Teaching Tasks
Instructors are compensated at a non-teaching rate of $15.00 per hour for any duties that do not directly involve teaching a lesson. This includes, but is not limited to, all early season training sessions and other assigned non-teaching activities.

Priority System
Our priority system is based on multiple weighted factors. The system is structured to give scheduling priority to full-time instructors. As a result, full-time staff are typically scheduled ahead of part-time staff.
| Seasonal Rank Contributors | Bi-Weekly Rank Contributors | |
| Scheduled Days | Optional (unpaid) Clinic Hours | |
| Primary Cert. | Non-Request Teaching hours on days off | |
| Additional Certs. | Set-Up Hours | |
| Years Teaching | Request Hours |
*Priority exceptions will occur at the Supervisor’s discretion, matching the most appropriate coach to the guest’s needs as well as sharing the workload.
Moving Up in Pay
Instructors may receive a pay increase during the season upon earning additional certifications. It is your responsibility to notify leadership by email with:
- Proof of passing (assessment form)
- Payment invoice
- Completed Pay Change Request Form (available in the locker room)
Once verified, your updated certification and pay rate will take effect the following pay period. Leadership will also update your priority points accordingly.
Moving Down in Pay
Pay rates may be adjusted if an instructor no longer meets the qualifications for their current rate. Examples include:
- Expired PSIA/AASI membership
- Incomplete continuing education requirements
- Change in employment status
Accommodations may be made in cases of injury, illness, or other unforeseen circumstances.
Line-Up Pay
Instructors will receive 15 minutes of pay for each lineup they attend on time. These minutes cover guest greetings, class organization, and pre-lesson coordination.
If you are late to lineup, your assigned lesson may be reassigned to another instructor.
